After a few years absence, AAG returned to exhibit at the Equip Auto show, showcasing the dynamism of our group as a result of the recent acquisitions that have been made.
With over 1,000 points of sale, 45 have joined AAG so far in 2017. However, there is still room to grow, Éric Girot, General Manager commented on these acquisitions at the show, stating that “Some departments, however, remain insufficiently covered. I, therefore, call for applications. We want to be closer to our customers “.
Presenting the areas that AAG currently cover, our stand at the show presented the areas we currently cover including bodywork, reconditioned parts, brand consolidation and digitalisation. It also allowed us to announce the launch of our new product Back2Car, our new brand of reconditioned car parts that carry the same guarantees as new parts.
In terms of new parts and bodywork, we have also expanded the range that is currently available via our body platform; formerly SAS France. Nissan and Volkswagen brands can now be found, in addition to the French and Italian manufacturers through our Command Hub which benefits from an interface with the Sidexa encryption tool. We were also able to launch our new body brand Color Selection; this brand will offer masks, abrasives, varnishes and thinners. Currently, our activity in bodywork contributes to 20% of our total turnover through 250 specialised Color Service stores. Allowing these new Color products to support the growth of this brand.
Also featured at the show was AAG brand Top Garage, which is currently made up of 860 members. The news that was announced for them was the opening of a vast 400m2 techno centre in the Malakoff region in Paris to serve as a centre for training and a test laboratory for new equipment and solutions. This techno centre will also be testing the new future connectivity dongle that will launch next year. This dongle; named Gnm Soft will launch on 1st January 2018 and will allow vital access to the data from connected vehicles.
Exhibiting at the Equip Auto show allowed us to announce some exciting products and initiatives. With these announcements and our recent acquisition by Genuine Parts Company (GPC), we strive to continue to establish ourselves as the leading supplier in the French aftermarket. As supported by Éric Girot at Equip Auto, where he commented that “Joining this industrialist (GPC) is an exciting adventure. Synergies are already on the way with the creation of working groups, “.
