Back2Car brand launched in France

05 Oct 2017

Category: AAG News

Alliance Automotive Group are pleased to announce the launch of Back2Car, our new brand which encompasses more than 30,000 recycled car parts.

The name Back2Car comes from the idea that by re-using parts, we are giving life back to our cars. In French, this translates to ‘give a second life to our vehicles’

Since January this year, all of our workshops have been instructed to offer pre-used parts to their customers when their vehicles come in for repairs. To support this change, AAG purchased deconstructors such as Geneva Occasion and SEVP Auto. Over the past five months, 24,000 additional parts alone have been dismantled at Genève Occasion’s site in Niort,

To prepare for this, the production methods of re-used parts has been standardised across our network in France and new products will be announced as they are added to Back2Car’s range. The industrial process is clear and strict in order to control the deconstruction of parts and to ensure traceability and referencing of the spare part.  This will mean that only quality parts will be sold on the market. Luc Fournier wants to reassure customers that “the repairer will receive a reliable product, tested, traced, cleaned, packaged and easy to mount thanks to the fasteners supplied with the part,”

From 23 September 2017, all of the members of our French network including those under GROUPAUTO, Precisium, Gef’Auto and Partner’s will be able to order parts via our Command Hub. At the end of September, the group claims more than 300,000 re-used items“The availability of used parts goes through the acquisition of new VHU centres and the significant increase in the productivity of recycling centres integrated into the group”, says Alliance Automotive Group.

Back2Car Product Warranties

We are also pleased to reveal that three of Back2Car’s product groups will have a 2-year warranty on them. This warranty will apply to bodywork, interior parts (such as the dashboard) and electronic equipment; such as alternators, starters, window regulators and compressors. However, engines and gearboxes will still have a 1-year warranty on them for customer’s peace of mind.

Expanding our Infrastructure for Back2Car

In addition to the purchase of Genève Occasion and SEVP Auto group, we recently acquired Axiomauto at the beginning of October to expand our ‘Préférence Recyclage’ network which will give us access to two more centres, based in Amiens and Nemours. Axiomauto boasts a turnover of 10 million euros and processes nearly 8,000 vehicles per year. Six VHU centres are now supplying distributors across our network with used parts and we anticipate that we will treat 28,500 vehicles annually, 90% of which come from insurance companies.
